Ymateb gan Unigolyn | Evidence from Individual

What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender make-up of the population)?

candidates should be elected on ability not gender, the closed list system will make it impossible for independents to get elected, and the representative of the party will not neccesarily be the best person for the job, and this will not allow the public to vote for a prefered individual, only for a party

What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?

this is yet another plan to destroy democracy in wales, it should be the best person for the job, regardless of gender

Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?

this is yet another policy in wales that isnt needed or wanted & another waste of money that the country doesnt have, when will the senedd wake up and realise that people want a candidate they can be sure will be working for them

Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

the public will get a party not a candidate, this will be the end of democracy as we know it, and will destroy what little confidence people have in the senedd

What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?

yet another waste of time and money by people with no clue what is going on in this country

What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?

with the way the senedd acts, they shouldnt have any power to do anything, as what they seem to do is line their own pockets and ignore the public, this madness has to be stopped

Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?

the senedd is so out of touch with people that incompetence, and arrogance are the working practise of the whole place, corruption is rife and as the senedd polices itself, no one is ever responsible for anything, with every problem being blamed on westminster

Do you have any views on matters related to the quality of the legislation, or to the constitutional or other implications of the Bill?

this should be put to a referendum to let the people decide if they want it, but that wont happen as the senedd think that they are better than the people who put them there

Are there any other issues that you would like to raise about the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

another ridiculous idea being pushed through onto people that dont want it, the senedd has become a dictatorship, and any consultation is pointless as the will of the people is ignored time and time again

Anything else?

until the senedd starts listening to the people that these policies will affect, then every consultation becomes a futile excercise and yet another waste of tax payers money, as results are ignored or manipulated to give the wanted results
